Hi, I am having the same issue. I decided to go with the BC Forged RZ05. I am getting them made to get the correct offsets. They are $750 each so half the price of the Forgelines, but still weigh ~3 lbs less than the Forgestars. Also, they said I should get the rims in 4-5 weeks, in time for Crows Landing. I'm planning on running 265 in front and 285 rears to keep the balance close to stock.

Cool thanks for that.

I ordered MOMO wheels and updated the list above. Promised for 3-4 weeks but I'm not holding my breathe. Hopefully will have for Crows but I've also ordered two rear 19x10 Niche Essens that I will run mismatched with my front OZ Leggeras as second set of wheels. I plan to run 265/305...mounting should be painful but other have got it seat.

Is there a 19 inch OEM set with the same widths that would work? I have a 981 Boxster S that I'd like to find a set of 19's for that are AS legal. I didn't realize the OZ's didn't have the correct offset until I saw this thread.

from what I can tell the 897 XRR 10 spoke wheels were 8.5/10 x 19" with 55/42mm offsets. So the fronts are OK but the rear offset is 1mm off (43mm).
I haven't found any other OEM wheels that work.

Can you use spacers to get the offsets within the rules? OZ has rear wheels that are 40 mm offset compared to the 50 mm OEM offset (or 3 mm too much). Would a 5 mm spacer bring the offset to 45 mm? I may be looking at this backwards...

The SCCA rule I'm thinking of is below:

"13.4 . . . Wheel spacers are permitted provided the resultant combination complies with the offset requirements of this Section. On vehicles supplied with an OE wheel spacer, the wheel spacer shall be considered as a part of the wheel."

You can use spacers to adjust offset. But, you are thinking about it backwards. Offset creates clearance at the fender. So, adding spacers reduces offset.

Gotcha - thanks! What a pain - I may just get a set of OEM 20's in 8.5 / 10 inch widths.

I’m close to pulling the trigger on a set of 19 inch Forgestars, 8.5 front / 10 rear. Can anyone confirm whether 255’s will work up front without rubbing, and 285’s in the rear? I’m going with RE71R’s.

I just installed my BC Forged RZ05 rims that I had made. Front: 19x8.5 offset: 50, and Rear: 19x10 offset: 43. I got 255 front and 285 rear RE 71Rs. So far driving around town, there are no rubbing issues, even at full steering lock. I have an autox Sunday, and will let you know if the higher cornering speeds causes any issues.

I ran my new rims and tires without any issue. Front: 19x8.5 offset: 50, and Rear: 19x10 offset: 43. 255 front and 285 rear RE 71Rs. First time driving the car at an autox and won my class! 9th overall. I'm very happy with them.

Excellent and congrats! I placed an order for Forgestars, same wheel dimensions and tires as yours. Can't wait to try them out but it'll be 6-8 weeks before they arrive.

I am new to the the Porsche/981 world but I bought a ‘14 BS with PTV/X73 suspension last fall. Rather than going the route/expense of having custom CCW/Forgeline/Forgestar/et al wheels built to meet the 19x8.5/10 +/- 7mm limits, has anyone considered running a 19x8.5 up front and a 20x10 rear? RE71R’s could then be had in the 255/35/19 and 295/30/20 variety with an OTS wheel (OZ for example) and the approximate rear-to-front rake would be maintained. The 2019 SCCA rule book allows the +/- 1” dia rule to be applied to either or both axles. Corvettes (C5’s I think) have had to run different diameter wheels for years. Any thoughts?

What you are proposing is definitely legal.
