That's correct. I'll be running 255/265. Honestly, I ended up with these specs because I ordered them before I decided to switch the STU. I agree that 9" wide is more optimal for a 255 tire but I don't think it's going to make that much of a difference. I ran 265s up front last year on the 8.5" wheel and they were really barely pinched. Even S2000 CRs run 255 on the rear from the factory on an 8.5" wheel so I think it'll be fine. Incidentally, it'll prob help with resale in the future being a more "normal" size but that's just a coincidence and not a primary consideration.

Yes, I should be at there. If weather permits I'm actually hoping to make the first event with Metro PCA at Tobay beach on 3/10 just to scuff in the new tires and do a general systems check.

Nice build - I am currently running a 2006 Cayman S in ASP class. Mods include 3rd radiator, GT3 throttle body and IPD plenum, harness bar like yours, GT3 LCA up front and GT3 sway bars front and rear, along with the rear toe links, Numeric shifter and cables. I am installing a AASCO lightweight flywheel this week, along with a TSB diff. Also put in a deep oil sump and pick up. Running stock brakes with new OEM pads. Probably some other bits and pieces I am forgetting.
You will have fun with your set up. Tires are the biggest difference, of course. I am using Hoosier A7's in my class. Also some Pirellis I' get used off the net.

Nice! My other car is an S2000 that was actually a BSP car that won SCCA nationals in 2017 driven by my codriver at that event, Tom O'Gorman. I do miss running 315 Hoosiers all around but I'm trying to simplify things and Street Touring fits the bill nicely. The car has since been retired from active competition and I've kept it, making it street legal again and I drive it around for fun now.

Wheels are on the car...well at least test fit. I put the stock ones back on after taking this pic. I'm going to lower the rear a bit more since my target is reverse rake since my understanding is that these cars like a bit of that.

I have been looking at this car for Stu also, You are going down the road that I would take to setup. What
have you done to lighten the car up? what are your next steps?
how much was saved on the seat swap. and exhaust.

Hmm, I haven't weighed everything but the exhaust and header combo saved some weight (maybe 5-10lbs?). My new battery will save around 40lbs in the front. The seats probably saved around 30lbs. Wheels are about as light as you can go. Other than that, there really aren't any other areas where I can take a lot of weight of except the driver

I saw some 2 piece brake rotor, listed at 3lbs per corner. Not much, but it rotational Mass. I had a muffler delete on my 04 made of Inconel,
it was 4 lbs total, the stock muffler was 40 lbs. You could install some of the burns lightweight mufflers i think they are around 7 lbs each.
do the comfort/convenience update to the stereo. maybe a few pounds there. i was thinking we could get one down to to about 2825lbs.
the shocks. and spring should have been a few pounds.
Whats you thoughts.

Sounds about right. I don't get too crazy with weight reduction unless I can take out big chunks of weight or its rotating mass. I've found over the years it doesn't make or break a winning car unless you're taking out lots of weight.

Went back to Speed Sport Tuning this past weekend and had them do final ride height adjustments and alignment to the car since the springs have now settled. I had them lower the rear another 15mm to get some reverse rake. Also had them put in an underdrive PS pulley to keep the PS pump happy and free up some ponies. This morning I finally put the wheels and tires on. All set for the first event later this month. I forgot how sticky fresh RE71Rs are. All I could hear were little pebbles getting tossed up in my wheel well as I drove to the nearby park for a quick pre-season photoshoot.
