1990 964 head-unit suggestions
Recently purchased a 1990 964, has an old Alpine now. Thinking about replacing with something with a little more stock look. Looking at Becker CDR-220, 210, 23.
What are your experiences with fitment and performance, any other suggestions?

Thanks, looks like a good fit, just need to decide if I want to retain CD's.

The Continental looks like a good fit. I was considering this also but also have no need for a CD drive.
There are quite a few other head units on the market now which do not have a CD or cassette (obviously) and are therefore less deep.
However, what I am really looking to do is simply use my iPhone as the source for everything (music, podcasts, telephone, user interface), but obviously have the sound come out of the car speakers.
In basic terms, I would like the iPhone to connect to the car speakers, most probably via cable (Bluetooth would also be nice) and remove the need for a head unit at all. I could then just blank out the space on the dash.
I assume I only need the amplifier part of a head unit, which I could hide behind the blank.
Has anyone done or seen anything like this before?
Any advice would be appreciated.
