Default 964 aftermarket stereo issues

Had a new stereo put into my 964, and have a constant whine that is dependent on the RPMs. RAC Performance has gone over all the grounds, and even grounded the amp directly to the battery with no luck. Is the alternator the next logical step? Voltage is fine.

Another question for you stereo guys: the new stereo includes a 10 inch shallow kenwood sub. The stereo shop wired this with 16 gauge wire. Is this something I should ask to be upgraded by the stereo shop? Is there ever a reason to use 16 gauge wire on a sub??

Thanks!

Make sure amp power lines and RCA wire are not together.
The RCA's will pick up noise if together..

Shop could not find any problems, so a couple of filters were installed, and all is good.

I find the Bose system in my 991cs of sufficient quality for a sports car. Much better than the Craig 8 track systems I had in my cars in the 70s. All jokes aside, for the driver, the 911 itself is the entertainment. The stereo is there for the passenger.
