I have some beta tapes and mini DV tapes of Devon , my son, I NEED to get onto my computer before something happens to the tapes. How can one do the beta transfer? The Mini DV tapes I have were recorded with a camcorder that is no longer supported and will not work with Windows 7. I think with the Mini DV I can simply play back on a mini DV camcorder that is still supported. Any thoughts on the Beta tape transfers??? Has anyone successfully transfered their VHS / beta into a LASTING format??? I JUST can handle not saving these somehow.

Just search for local companies that do that.

Much cheaper and easier than investing in your own equipment.
