Who uses itunes to manage their music? I have a question (s)
I've got almost all my music on my mac laptop using itunes software. Not looking to debate the decision on that - but I would like to find a simple way to control the music throughout the house.
Ive got speakers in most of the rooms running to my stereo which has an input for the computer. Problem is that when I want to change a song and Im in the bedroom - I have to go all the way back down to the family room to make any adjustments.
If the computer with the music is on a wireless network (i have my one set up thru fios) - then could I control everything thru an ipad?
Im not enough of a mac head to understand how that could work. Has anyone done this or something like it?
thx

If you have a Mac providing the signal your stereo speakers, you can control that Mac's iTunes remotely from any iPhone, iPad, iPod touch on the same wifi network. The application is called "Remote"

BTW - I have to add that this was so easy. Downloaded the software and now I can control my entire music library, song selection, stop-start, volume etc - from anywhere in the house. Amazing....

Another consideration if you wish to incorporate Video too is to use an AppleTV. The streaming of the music/video will be digital via an optical cable where your preamp will process the signal rather than having the AirPort express send an analog signal to your preamp.
