Exclamation Aftermarket Amplifier on my Bose equipped 991.1?

I'm going to put a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX (https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/P...X/AVH-W4400NEX) mainly for wireless Apple Carplay and a backup camera. I understand that I would need to install this setup (https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK9X1BOSE.html) in order to do so however I saw that 12v Nick suggested it's possible to do this (https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK9X1DD.html) instead. Not only is it $625 cheaper, but I would imagine an aftermarket amp would be far superior to the OEM Bose unit. Nick said that replacing the amp "requires more skill and experience to execute properly" and I was hoping to get some additional details on the process.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Anthony

I replaced the amps & all of the speakers in my 991.1, and added a sub.

You can do the same thing I did, the big difference is that with Bose, the PCM outputs audio to the main Bose amp using MOST. So, you can either use a MOST adapter like the NAVTV to get the audio-out signals you'll need to feed the new amp, or you can change the head unit out.

Now that you have done the hard work, you have to make the mounting brackets available to the rest of us, get it? Cash money!
