Looks like the 997.2 Turbo is the quickest manual car in the world and I had no idea. Doubtful any other manual ever made has done it in 3.0 sec. I believe there's a whole bunch of cars in the 3.3-3.4 sec range.

Thought that was insane. Dump the clutch at 4000 rpm and it hits 30mph in 1 second. Tried this last week in my car, the sense of acceleration is insane in 1st.

Are you really dumping the clutch at 4K? Is that the magic number to get that result?

Yes, it was insane. I don't let money get in the way of experiences, it's worth it. Felt very solid, you guys gotta try this. Quite the rush.

Since it was pretty much the last fast AWD supercar to be offered with a manual, I bet that record will hold indefinitely. From here on out any competitor will be using a dual clutch or automatic.

Which is exactly why I bought it. Not interested in a pdk / tip in this ride.

I had to look it up and I'm astounded.

The 997.2TT 6MT beats the following in 0-60mph:

Yeah, it's a shame but heck of a car to take the record. 0-60 in a manual is just a lot more fun to me than launch control with a PDK. Can't argue speed, but the experience is worth it IMO.

Uh I wouldn't disparage the PDK gang....our cars are fast and fun to drive as well.

I'm not, I have a Pan Turbo w/ PDK. I just prefer the manual box. I hope they continue to offer them although I know they are dying off. I just feel more engaged with a manual. I suppose personal preference. One of my favorite cars ever is the 997 Turbo.
