I've been tracking sales data for both the 997.1TT 6MT Coupes and 997.2TT 6MT Coupes for a few years now. For the first time ever, both the .1 and .2 appear to have fully stabilized in year-over-year pricing, which is a good sign for things to come going forward. It was also surprising to see that the 997 Turbo is holding its value better than the 997 GT3 and 997 GT3RS now (which have stopped appreciating, likely due to the upcoming 991.2 GT3 4.0L 6MT.)

Here's the wholesale pricing data I've collected through various auction sources (eBay, Bring-a-Trailer, Manheim):
997.1
997.2

Here's a summary of my recent findings:
Modern Classics

Here's an outline of my regression methodology:

Oddly I've - based on my faulty recollection - been under the impression that 997.1 MT cars are cheaper than they were last year.

And worse - for others because I have one - the 996-997 gap seems to be closing.

Of course that might be confirmation bias.

But then again the same red 09 TT I (edit: thought I wanted until I read it has issues later in this thread) is still at the same price it was last year at the same dealer...

Are these all 6MT coupe values in your 997.1 link or is Tip/Cab mixed in?

Those are all 6MT coupes in those two lists, no tiptronic or cabriolet cars in those lists.

997.1 tip is supposed to be very robust. i wouldn't worry about it.

I think the problem with pricing these cars is the variation of options. For example, a car with higher miles but fully loaded with all the options at a $60K price could be a steal vs a car with slightly lower miles and no options at the same price.

Often times, when I was doing my analysis, I took into consideration what the original MSRP of the build for the car was, that way you can help identify/reason the price if needed.

I've been considering selling my 08 (in my avatar).
Ruby Red / grey sport seats, 6 speed with 27000 miles.
No stories, all history and maintenance... great condition.
150k list.

I have a tune for it, but I needed the plugs and coils replaced, so I never really have run the car on it...

Two questions:
1) should I not put the tune on the car and sell it bone stock, or should I tune it and then sell it?
2) what would be a reasonable expectation for selling price?

Thanks
Dan

**Edit**
Almost forgot the best part.... I recently put a Europipe Stage 2 exhaust on it, but I could pull it off and sell it stock if you all think it would be an easier sale.

1. Why does it need plugs and coils after only 27k? And are you going to fix them or sell it needing the work done?

2. Is it the light grey or the dark inside?
One I'd be drooling over, one I wouldn't. Taste is subjective, and it can narrow the pool of potential buyers.

3. How quick do you want to sell it?

I'd vote for selling it bone stock fwiw. I love the red btw.

Plugs and coils have an age limit as well as a mileage limit.

Yes... and I have already done the work.

The car needs nothing.

I was thinking that if it would bring 77k i would sell it.

work is already complete. The car is 9 years old, so it was time based.

2. Is it the light grey or the dark inside?

It is two tone stone grey and black.

One I'd be drooling over, one I wouldn't. Taste is subjective, and it can narrow the pool of potential buyers.

id like to see what the collective group thinks is a reasonable price to sell in a month or so... I don't need to sell it, but once I make up my mind I'm not one to spend a ton of time trying to get max dollar.

I'd vote for selling it bone stock fwiw. I love the red btw.
Thanks for the reply

There are two 07s on cargurus with the same mileage that haven't moved at about 71. So you are at a premium for color plus whatever option differences there are.

That was what drove my do you want to sell it?

This for instance is an 09 in your color, but it's been there forever. Higher mileage, but they think the 09 will account for the premium.

I think you're right... if I wanted to get rid of it quickly I'd prob have to take less than my target 77k...
Looks like you guys may be stuck with me for a while.

I do have a fidelity platinum warranty that's good for another 5 years or until about 75000 miles.
Would that command a premium?

Dan

That one has been brought up here a few times over the last ~14 months it's been available and it seems like it probably has stories. It was sold at an auction at one point, has the PCCB rotors swapped out for steel, and was missing an exhaust surround. It has also some track-oriented bucket seats that won't be to many people's tastes/fitment.

The color is cool and rare and probably adds some value in a market full of gray/black/white TTs, but I agree that $77k would be a pretty big stretch, especially without PCCBs or aerokit or adaptive sport seats(?)...

I do know I'd pay a bit extra for a car with that much warranty if I were shopping for a TT, though I don't think it adds enough premium to get you to $77k. If you price it reasonably, I bet it will sell super fast due to the unique color, condition and warranty. Just my 2 pfennigs.
