I agree with Kevin's statement, the rise of the 996TT market (most cars are $45-60k now) has definitely helped the 997TT market. It seems like pricing over the last few years has been very stable and flat, with most 997.1 cars falling into the $60-80k range.

The 997.1 Turbo with a manual is arguably the best value Porsche you can buy.

true that, but a MT and Mezger motor will pull the .1s up soon.

And if you look at .1 6spd coupe production numbers, there really aren't that many...

I mentioned it in another thread the other day, but people also used to scoff at the idea of 930s (~20k worldwide) and Testarossas (~7k worldwide) becoming collectible. Over time through attrition and as more buyers looking for a more old-school-but-modern sports car enter the market, the .1 6mt coupes could start to look almost scarce.

In 09 the economy tanked so hard Porsche scaled backed big time on production, so not many 6MT coupes out there in US...maybe 600 or so total? plus a slight tune makes it such an exceptional value w/out the negs of 996 style wise...and i have had many of both, so can appreciate them all

I tell everyone I meet...6 spd 997 TT with some mods is the value buy of the century.

The car is amazing and somewhat raw yet feels modern while 10 years old.

Perfect combo of old and new...I even added bluetooth and sat radio to mine. Love it.

I see the 997.1 Turbo right now between $70-80k. Personally I don't see them going down much more, but I think it will be a couple of years before they start going up in value. I don't see them going up to GT car values though.

that's high praise given the array of cars in your stable.

Our 2009, with Mezger engine, 6MT, Sport Chrono Package Turbo, PCCB, PCM 3.0 w/XM and BT, full leather interior with infinitely adjustable heated seats is the perfect blend of old and new. The suspension is not as precise as our 981 Spyder, however, the 997.1 Turbo is an excellent, open air, invigorating touring sports car. 2009 6MT, PCCB 997.1's proved difficult to find and bid on before they were sold. We found the asking prices to be stable, with little room for negotiation. The 2009 997.1 Turbo Cabriolet is a keeper.

Last weekend I participated in a joint Porsche, MB, BMW car show. I was parked next to a new 17 991 TT and was shocked at how large the 991's have gotten. IMO all 997 TT's and TTS's will be desirable in the future because they are the pinnacle of Porsche design and driver engagement.

Weird thing is, as was discussed in a contentious thread in the 997 forum a few days ago, the 991 has nearly the same overall dimensions (overall height, width, length) as the 997. Something about the lines of it makes it look way bigger, though, and I've never met someone who didn't think the 991 looked "too big" or "bloated" compared to the 997.

To really see the comparo...when I park my 993 behind the 991 it looks like the 991 gave birth to a baby Porsche
