It's all in the title, do you guys prefer the standard or the aerokit wing more, cost not being a factor? I've always liked the aerokit rear wing more until I bought mine with the standard wing, and it's grown on me. Not sure which I prefer anymore.

I would never want the aerokit wing even if it was free. I like the more modest look of the standard wing. I'd rather call it a rear spoiler, which sounds and seems even more modest. )

I strongly dislike the ostentatious wing on the GT3 and similar variants but I don't really mind the regular, more subtle aerokit wing. I didn't buy mine new but if I did, I probably would have gone for a no-cost aero wing just to avoid eventually dealing with the standard unit's hydraulics.

Even better could have been a cool retro factory whale tail throwback...

Edit: Or a spoiler-delete option. Love the NA WB 911's profile.

I would have paid more for the standard/motorised spoiler. Not a fan of the aerokit. That said, I do like the after market wings styled after the OEM GT4 kit.

My car has the aerokit option but I would have probably gone for the rear Aerokit spoiler as I like the looks (my memory of 911s is of racing cars with rear spoilers/wings versus some who idolize the smooth rear end of older cars), no moving parts to wear out or replace plus I assume a bit less weight up high at the rear of the car.

I voted standard, but when the wing hydraulics fail... I may go fixed.

I like no wing option or duck tail/whale tail.

Too bad Porsche did not allow for a Duck Tail or even a lower part of the standard spoiler only. It still serves an aerodynamic purpose, yet flows better with the profile of the Turbo. With that said, I prefer the standard spoiler look.

I'm biased towards the aerokit.. that sealed the deal for me and my car but there's a reason for this...

I've been a huge fan of the 911 turbo since childhood. Saw a brand new ('87) 930 turbo on the desert highway on a CA to Ohio road trip with my parents when I was a child. The whale tail is an iconic symbol of the 911 turbo and I'll always remember that. So my affinity towards the wing goes back to the iconic whale tail.

And I'm glad it isn't a free option because it makes my car a bit more rare

I wish! I want one very badly. Had a chance when they were selling in the 30's and totally blew it. I'd love to buy one that needs work and have it rebuilt the way I want.... one day.
I know you're a huge fan, as am I.

Saw one on a new TT being dropped at the dealer from the delivery truck. Like.

I like my aero wing... I have a 930-type whale tail on my SC...

Aerokit sealed the deal for me as well. Always associated 911's with whale tails as a kid.
