Take away speed from the comparison... 991 is faster period! But, I came from a C7 Corvette. I know this may sound like a stretch, but it's not... the C7 was waaaaay nicer than my 2011 TTS.

My Porsche rides like a wagon in comparison and the road noise is ridiculous. Go drive a 991 of any flavor and then compare it to a 997 of any flavor and you'll see, technology prevails. Anyone who doesn't want to admit this is only fooling themselves. Guaranteed my next car will be either be a newer 991 TTS or a completely different brand of car.

I've never measured 60-90, only 60-100mph ,100-200kph and 60-130mph.

My UMW tuned 997.1 6MT with gt2rs coolers, exhaust, and do88 pipes did a 3.2 60-100 & a 6.6 100-200, both vboxed. Also did a 7.4 60-130, although I didn't have the SD card in the vbox for that run..
The PDK really makes a difference once you get to anything with a greater start/end delta of 60mph..

The correct description is "raw" and "visceral," thanks.

Hahahaha!!!! Ok.... whatever you say. It's a chuckwagon ride, but keep telling yourself that. You must be a proud 997 driver. 😜

Given that the 2011 TTS is the same interior configuration as the 2005 997 Carrera, i can see why you would like a C7 Vette better.

I come from vintage vettes and now vintage 911 porsches, so the interior of a 997 is something i enjoy for the size and gauge lay out.

As far as the wagon comparison, id take the pepsi challenge on a 997 TTS to a C7 on the skid pad any day of the week. Rain or shine.

Ummmm No! The new corvette is nice but not to the level of quality on the interior parts etc. it may ride better, but that's it. I see plastic everywhere.

This thread is being jacked by a Corvette arguement?

IMO, keep the 7.2 TTS Steve, does pretty much everything very well indeed.

Owned both... you're wrong! Anyway, moving on. Original comment made my ME was a 991 is far superior to a 997 period!

Dude, nobody is jacking anything. My original comment as stated above is a 991 is far superior to 997... that's not my opinion, that's a fact!

The 991 is indeed the latest greatest. RWS etc.
The 997 has its charm however. Size being one of them.

The 997 is a much more advanced car to the 993TT, but does that make the 997 "superior"?

Id take a 993TT over the 991 and 997.

the vette gets em' wet, but that is about it.
the plastics sourced in the vette are the same as the silverado truck series.
Chevrolet is getting better however.

give each vehicle 80k miles and see which interior feels plastic.

Just for fun

I know nothing about the mods of these two cars, I know speed is not the primary factor, etc etc.

The jump from tiptronic to PDK is galaxies apart. Is there s difference between the 12' PDK and the 991 PDK?
