997tt final
Need your opinion guys! Im ready to pull the trigger on an 07 997tt for 75k. It has 30k miles, with upgraded wheels,exhaust and headers. It it also converted to oem 997.2 tail lights. I really like the car how it sits right now. I am getting a PPI done this weekend and if everything checks out, i will buy it. The only downside is, it has a lot of previous owners. Is that a bad thing? Also, do i need to have it tuned because of the aftermarket parts? This would be my first P-car and i want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Thanks in advance!

Good morning Dave,
Multiple owners and swapped tail lights, could be sign of an accident. You can not just swap the lights, it has to be the rear bumper too. Besides other PPI issues make sure they look into evidence of rear accident along with the Carfax as to why so many owners.

Sounds like a solid deal. I think you'll get a good read on mechanical state and accident damage from the PPI. Offhand, multiple owners never bothered me, so long as PPI is clean - these are toys, and plenty of people have car ADD. Based on age, it's already overdue for the typical 30k maintenance, which is costly, so would check to see if coils, plugs, waterpump, etc. have been replaced. The upgraded tail light is probably aesthetics - lots of people swap out - but PPI can rule out accident damage.

It has clean carfax and current owner seems pretty honest.. He just changed the rear tail lights for looks. He has the receipt for the lights and the rear bumper.. Current owner got it from a porsche dealership. He also has the receipt for the wheels. Forgot to mention that it is also lowered on H&R springs and interior is cocoa brown..

Seems like a good deal. Also, multiple owners is not something I would worry about too too much as these super-cars tends to be part of "flavor of the month" thing for wealthy people I hear, so they tend to have a few owners. Mine had 15K on odometer and had 2 previous owners.
PPI is a great idea but also look for damage as other members mentioned. Do keep in mind that to some people LED/Updated bumper look is important, so if they had money for a Turbo, then they could have possibly just updated the looks for the heck of it.
Do a PPI and go from there. Good luck!

White 997TT make me drooling all over the iPad, please tell me it has a manual gearbox, I am so jealous. I don't care how many owners of the car, what matter most is maintenance history and PPI.
