Carmax 2011 TTS Deal of the Century
I've been thinking of selling my 09 TT Cab 6MT for a while so I've been monitoring Carmax. Yesterday I found a 2011 Speed Yellow fully optioned $183K MSRP TTS for sale in Austin, TX for $83K. It has 38K miles, it doen't have center locks (I didn't want them), no accidents, new tires and appears to be in excellent shape. So, I pulled the plug and I'm having it shipped to VA.
Carmax pictures are attached below. Yes, it does stand-out and yes it has a few miles but that's okay because if I buy it, I'll purchase their 5-year 125K mile warranty. But for $83K, IMO that's the Carmax deal of the century!
Anyone interested in a stock, pristine 2-owner 09 TT Cab 6MT with 25K miles?
Thoughts?

Wow - great find. I drive by that lot daily - it must have been buried. I always wonder how a car like that finds its way to CarMaxx. To get it shipped to VA do you have put down a deposit or pay for the shipping? Hope it works out for you.

Yes, I had to pay a transfer fee that includes shipping. Once I've had the opportunity to inspect I'm under no obligation to buy it.

Thanks, I did a key word search and couldn't find anything. I will certainly check it out thoroughly. If I don't like it or it has issues I'll walk and lose a few bucks but that's okay too. As the saying goes, don't let a temporary solution turn into a permanent problem.

Not trying to be an Os-wee-pay, but me thinks this means it is not even close to a DOTC, but maybe priced about right given the limited appeal of the color to many.
Good luck,

Just went and looked at this car in Austin. It's a little rough around the edges. I didn't have a paint meter but there may have been work around the driver side door panel/ quarter panel. It has a clear bra in the front that is yellowing. Interior looks a little dated with wear on the buttons as well as on both sides of the thigh bolsters (passenger/ driver).
At start up there was mild black smoke which I'm unsure if it's normal for something this age while being turned on- I hope it's not the turbos eating oil. It also had 2 warning message check engine lights- something about the lighting and another regarding system management.
I would definitely go over this (PPI) if you guys were serious.

I imagine it's hard to get a genuine, clean "deal of the century" at a major dealership like that.

OMG, you lucky bas*tard. That is a killer deal on a stunner. I would have jumped on it too if I wanted a yellow car. WAY TO GO! Can't wait to see what happened next. Even if it needs some stuff, who cares. All cars do.
