Back with a 997.1 TT
Got the bug again after helping a friend pick out a new Cayenne . While she was doing paperwork, I wandered around the dealer with that look in my eye. Fast forward a few weeks and i found myself back there to test drive an 07 Turbo with a Tip they took as a trade on a new Cayman. I know , its a slushbox, but i will enjoy the auto for a few reasons. I had a C2 996 cab before , and I could not believe how much more car this was. Went home and did some research and slept on it before returning the next night like a kid.
Can't find a blemish on her except some foot marks on the drivers inner sill. Not a scratch anywhere. Clear bra on the nose, mirrors and rear fenders. Local car leased, sold and serviced there with extensive records and the major service just performed . Has new rotors, pads and a fresh set of P zeros also. Recent coil paks and plugs.
Caveat: Bank 2 camshaft spun and was replaced at dealer 2000 miles ago. After considering all the data , I felt comfortable buying from this Porsche dealer and was given a short warranty of 2K miles/ 2 months. Backing that up with 4yrs of coverage from fidelity and a bag of money just in case. I did not get a PPI.
72k miles on the clock and i paid $53500. i can't wait to get her out once the rain stops , and stretch her legs up the coast. These cars are incredible.
I will post more pics later.
Ok, let me have it. -Lou

I sort of skimmed and was about to bug out at the price till I reread and saw it was a Tip. Still, great looking car and nicely bought, especially with the warranty.
Edit: Or was the Fidelity warranty extra? Would you mind sharing what that cost on a 72k-mile car? I didn't think they'd even cover one with so many miles.

That's a lot of car for the money. No reason these cars shouldn't last past 150k miles with proper maintenance. You got a great deal because of the Tip and mileage. Someone else's loss, your gain! The paint looks great.

The Fidelity warranty is an extra $5600 for 48mo/48k Powertrain only & $12800 for the Platinum coverage. $4700 for 36/36 Powertrain only .
When i first called Circle Porsche , they claimed i just missed the 10 year old car cutoff. Then he asked for the VIN and mileage and said OK. Car was first delivered 6/2007 so maybe that was a factor.
Seems like a good value to me for some peace of mind and protection.

Keep us updated with your experience. I love hearing about the high mileage cars. Some have been sorted through so well that most possible shortcomings have been resolved. Ex coolant pipes etc. Others have been modded perfectly. Besides, in 50 years almost all of them will be high mileage cars and equally valuable

Lots of directions to go for a good ride up there. I did a 3 year construction project for Calleguas and know the area well. I will reach out to you one of these days . Really enjoy being in a 911 again, especially a Turbo !
