How to disable TPMS warning?
I don't use the absurdly high tire pressure recommendations from the factory and can't find a place to disable the TPMS warning light and exclamation light on the dash. Any ideas?
This is on a 997.2 Turbo S.
Thanks.

Can you reset/recalibrate the sensors with the proper pressure levels? I haven't had the issue that you describe, and I don't use the pressure ratings on the sticker.

You have a .2?

I've pretty much tried all tires at the track. Every tire on this car doesn't like above 36psi hot front or rear. Best performance is almost always 32ish front 35ish rear hot.
My street driving is usually on the aggressive side, consistenting of taking the car out on late nights or very early mornings. Getting to 300kph is very normal. Very spirited almost autoX like driving through mountain curves are also common. It's not a DD. Performance on the street for me is important.

Mine is a .1. I'm not sure how the .1 differs from the .2. I run Porsche recommended pressures, but not the pressures on the sticker inside the gas cap. The sticker shows the maximum pressure. I set mine lower because I typically drive with no luggage and no other passengers.

Do you want to disable the message or the whole system?
If you just want the light to go away temporarily you can reset it using a durametric but it will come back after ~ 15 minutes of highway speed driving.
A shop wont do this for you and i have not had to on my 911 but my Audi R8's TMPS warning was a constant issue regardless of what my actual readouts were. I eventually had the sensors removed and created a loop in the wiring leading back to the main main control unit then hard programmed what the input value was. Not as hard as is sounds
Could leave you driving on under / over inflated tires but in my opinion with modern low profile tires if you cant tell by feel alone if your tire pressure is off you shouldn't own a performance car. Feel free to PM me if you want some instructions

When you say "disable the system" does that mean the entire TPMS system is shut off? I just want the warning light and exclamation mark to turn off but still be able to read the pressures.

Yes the entire system would be shut off. The only way to turn the warning light off is to run the pressure at the factory specs. You can not change or calibrate the pressures on the system.

Just disable it and check the pressures manually occasionally. Thats what I've done and I'm very pleased with it. The tpms accuracy is also a bit questionable.
