Default 997 TS warranty expiring, suggestions?

I have a 997.2 TS which warranty is expiring this week. I admit that I don't follow the forums to see what little issues pertain to these cars, and look forward to your advice. I have done some searching and see things like the coolant pipe issue. I have had zero issues with the car, 34k miles to date, don't track it, but am thinking to take it to the dealer for an inspection before the expiration. What issues should I make sure they pay attention to? I will ask them to let me observe the inspection. Things like brake pad normal wear I presume are not covered by warranty in any event, but it is my first warranty experience with Porsche since I bought my last one in the 80's. What do you all suggest?

I didn't think the 997.2 turbo had coolant pipe issues?

Correct. Not an issue with the DFI engines.

There are a lot of differences between the .1 and .2, so it's difficult to get a lot of info from these 997 forums as most of the stuff pertains to the .1s. I have .2 turbo as well (non s manual trans) and frequent this and some other forums and just haven't seen many problems with the .2s. I'm at 73000kms on mine with heavy track use and have had zero problems with my car. My warranty is coming up as well and I don't think I'm going to extend it.

In general the DFI motor is significantly superior with regards to reliability than the Mezger. I wouldn't sweat it. Just keep driving and keep up on your routine maintenance.

I have a different take.

If you are planning on keeping the car for 3 to 5 years..

I would spend the $3500 for a powertrain Fidelity of Easy Care warranty. 4 to 5 years is available.

Will your car is currently under warranty, the replacement powertrain policy will be the cheapest.

The warranty companies will also refund your policy monies if you decide to sell and not transfer it to the new owner.

Which brings my next next point/opinion>> having a aftermarket warranty intact is a Good Selling point that adds value.
