Default Who runs without catalytics ???

Just a few questions ...Do you get any droning? Is it excessively loud?

Does it smell like fuel?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the SpeedTech 3.0 X-pipe w/o cats. It does smell like fuel a bit, yes. I personally like the sound quite a bit, but if you drive without music on it may drone more on the freeway than you would like.

A catless system will tend to drone a bit. If you don't like drone go catted for sure. Asking a catless full 3" system to not done at all is a very tall, overly ambitious order, IMO.

I have Kline's gt2 system currently catless. It does smell just a bit on cold start and idle in the garage. When running e85 it smells quite sweet! Switching to the decats allowed more pop, burble and backfire out, which I like.

I never get a gas smell and I can't really say drone as much as I would say It's louder. My last car you couldn't talk to the person next to you at highway speed and this isn't like that. The stereo **** can cover it if you didn't want to hear the exhaust. But it is a lot louder when you spool it up that's for sure.

I def miss that smell!

To the OP, if you roll catless make sure you get the 90 degree O2 extenders so you don't throw a CEL or get a tune to get rid of the CEL

I have a tune that eliminated the check engine light. Will it still show ready when they check it for emissions inspection??

When I sold my 997 Turbo, California requires a smog check, and for OBDII cars its just a plug into the port and no longer requires a sniffer for OBDII or newer. As long as there is no codes thrown or a recent reset on the computer you will pass.

I rolled into the smog shop with my full catless speedtech exhaust with 90 degree O2 extenders and it passed like a bone stock turbo.

That I do not know, I never had a tune on my turbo so the 90 degree extenders did the job of not throwing a CEL for the catless system.

I have the USP catless 3" exhaust. Overall great exhaust at a reasonable price. I recall smelling gas at first. I never smell it now and I've had no comments from passengers. My car is a tiptronic cab and the drone is minimal.

Not lame at all. We have a moral obligation to take care of ourselves and others, and if running cats can help achieve that then it warrants doing so IMO. That said, don't hold it against anyone who doesn't run them. Each to their own.

If I drove mine daily, I wouldn't even think about going catless.

Here is a question for the gov't.., why are race cars allowed to run without catalytic converters?

I bet those guys run an easy 20k miles a year Btwn races and practice.
