If just for looks basically, I'd probably just do springs.

Agreed with tt. Lower with H&R, they will settle perfectly low.

Christian, I am admittedly bias here, but the GMG lowering springs do a great job. When we were developing them, James was quite adamant on not having the lowering aspect negatively affect ride quality. After a good amount of development with Eibach, we came with the springs we still sell today. To be blunt, I was quite skeptical until I hitched a ride myself, marketing is one thing, results are another.

Here is the 997.2TT GMG spring listing.

Off topic: do you have a build thread for your 912? I have always been a Conda Green fan.

For your use springs only is probably all that's needed.

We had H&R on our old 997.1 turbo...loved the height and the way the car sat. Didn't much care for the ride it was pretty soft and felt kinda like a wet noodle.

Our .2 has GMG springs. They seem to be a really good match of ride and handling balance. Wish the car sat a touch lower esp in the front but that is the only complaint and it's minor.

I see these lowering discussions, and I'm the first to admit these cars look better lowered...But where the hell do you guys live?...On a race track? Do you store front lip spoilers like disposable razors?

I did the GMG lowering springs and toe links before a track event and loved them. In the first two weeks I went through two lip spoilers. This area is just to hilly. Many merchant and restaurant driveways transition uphill (or downhill). Two intersections in town are impossible without slowing to a crawl and crossing at an angle. Maybe it's a geographic thing, but I yanked that kit and went back to stock.

My question is, why go with GMG, since they are made by Eibach? Why not just go with the Eibach kit? They settle right at 3/4" lower. And can be had currently from MULTIPLE vendors on Ebay for $332.xx-$340 plus free shipping. I'm all for supporting vendors, but $340 vs $695 for the same product by the same manufacturer there's no decision to make. The Kit is Eibach Part #7220.140, mine came from Discount Tire Direct on Ebay, and Robert Boreham at Boreham Motorsports is installing them along with a GT2RS rear sway bar from Suncoast. Add a DSC and suspension is done for 99.9% of my needs including occasional DE here in Az.

Cheers

So would Eibach sell a unique product exclusive to GMG undercutting, their own kit? Seems kind of odd that the springs could be significantly different in any real sense, not saying they aren't, just would like to know definitively that there are differences that warrant a 2x price premium.

BTW your Kline goes in my car this week.

Cheers

Sweet, enjoy!
Eilbach will custom wind a set of springs for anybody as long as you come with the cash.

I got a set of coil overs so solve the lousy ride and to lower the car...then moved to techart aero with a skid plate and it's perfect...I blew through like 5 of the stock splitters before moving to techart and it's been perfect.
