Default Who's running an upgraded clutch? Slave?

I'm pretty sure there are many of you guys with stronger clutches to handle your power mods. I've been running my OE clutch with about 600 ftlb from my tune and am thinking of upgrading. My question is: will a stronger clutch ultimately wear out my OE slave cylinder, or is the OE slave fine pushing the stronger spring?

I'm not opposed to doing the EVOMS GT2 master & slave conversion, taking the PS pump assist and pressure accumulator (replaced once already) out. I would keep the dual mass flywheel, but I'm wondering if I should go with an unsprung clutch disk. Is the dual mass flywheel forgiving enough by itself? Anyone running this setup?

TIA,
Louis

Is the slave cylinder the same part for the TT and GT2? Are the GT2 flywheel, clutch disk, and pressure plate all different from the TT?

Did your engagement point change--get lower? I assume the feel got a little stiffer/harder?

Thanks for the replies.

All the clutch components are different, the slave appears to be the same. The flywheel is also more of a single mass so it has a little bit of that lwfw chatter.

Other than the clutch disk, the 996GT2 and/or 997GT2 uses the same dual mass flywheel. The part number is 99611401204 One cannot use the rest of the dual mass guide tube, and GT2 clutch disk with a single mass LWFW kit. It's either a dual mass system or a single mass system. The GT2 clutch kit is basically a non sprung clutch disk coupled with the standard turbo component list (this includes the stock turbo pressure plate)

A more significant upgrade requires the Sachs Race 764 pressure plate. You can run a sprung disk or a non sprung clutch disk.

Lperm, if you plan on keeping your car, I'd recommend the 764 PP and clutch disk of your choice.. You can even run the GT2 clutch disk if you'd like.. I would keep the factory (turbo) slave and accumulator, just replace it.

my car is currently in for a Sachs 2.5, BBI Slave, and Porsche Sport Shifter. I'll have it back next week and will share impressions.

We have a sachs 764 pressure plate, sprung disk, and light flywheel. Stock slave and accumulator. The car had a gt2 pp in it with a DMFW when we did the swap, both setups drove very smoothly with no issues. I only notice the LWFW in reverse, where it takes a few more rpms to move the car.

Got my car back yesterday with the Sachs 2.5 and BBI slave. Clutch is consistent and engagement is smooth. It definitely requires a strong left leg though. I'm very happy with the upgrade.
