Rear Brakes Help
Guys,
i'm in the middle of changing up my rear brakes along with O2 sensors and other fun.
Curious if anyone has seen the cylinders on their rear pads? The ones coming off have them and the new ones don't have them. See photos. These are the same brand but the part number is slightly off
part number:
24454 new one w/o cylinders
24154 old pad with cylinders
Was curious if these are needed or i should be worried about not having them. First brake pad change so wanted to be sure Thanks!

Those are vibration dampers - they are supplied as separate parts and have a self adhesive backing that sticks to the pads when you install the pads in the callipers. Part number is 99735208602 - you need 4 of them.

Correct just use a very thin screw driver and gently pry them away
Happened on my car and I was worried too at first
With respect to the 02 sensor make sure you try to find the retainment clips/brackets to hold them in place as the exhaust will melt the wires

I'm running Pagid RSL1 pads, and they're too thick to allow for the damping plates to be installed. They're not a must have.

Just did my rear brake pads 2 weeks ago and wondered the same thing.. I just carefully peeled it off and reused it.. Also replaced my rear caliper bolts (torqued to the correct spec.) and used a new spring.

I think he means the actual bolt that holds the caliper to the hub.
Porsche says replace. I would replace every second time. Torque to spec also so you don't strip the hub.
