Tip Choices
Trying to make my choice on aftermarket tips. These will go on an aftermarket exhaust with OEM fitment at the end points. My general criteria:
1) I don't like the 997TT OEM style, often referred to as "AMG like". I prefer twin tip style. I also like the somewhat twin tip style, like the Techarts.
2) I have a hard time swallowing a $500 or $1k or even higher outlay for a couple polished pieces of metal that bolt onto my exhaust pipe. Seems like Porsche-tax run amok. Just seems crazy to me. I'd really like to keep it to < $500 (which takes new Techarts out of competition).
3) I like shiny bits on my basalt black car. So will avoid matte black or ceramic coating.
So that seems to leave a few choices:
1) Fabspeed tips - design is right. Possible finish issues well documented here on RL. $450 "sale" price is in right ballpark.
2) Agency Power - Less $$s. Design is right. Fitment issues reported. Consensus seems to be avoid.
3) Speedtech - design is right. Pics on website are not very clear. Hear good things about their systems, but no real feedback on the OEM-style tips themselves. http://www.speedtechexhausts.com/ast1_013.htm
4) AWE Tuning - bit more than target $500 price. Haven't seem much commentary anywhere on fit, finish. http://www.awe-tuning.com/awe-997ttmuffler
5) others?...
I'd gladly buy a pair of decent but imperfect used tips (e.g., Techarts or maybe one of above), but they come up very infrequently, if at all.
So I give up.
Feedback on above is appreciated.

The rest are questionable of quality, and you know John will stand by his stuff.
