It's pretty cool since ALL 911's of any year pretty much rock. The 996 long term owner/love story in the recent Panorama highlights this type of thing.
I swapped keys a while back with a friend and his 964. He took my 997TT and I took his 964 for a short cruise. I had a hard time giving the keys back. It was a different feel, it wasn't a rocket ship but a very raw driving experience. He loved the power of the turbo. When I drove a 991 I feel the same. The car is very refined but it doesn't feel as raw as the 997 does.

Some days you want refinement some days you want raw. Some days you want even more raw..that's when you go air cooled.

I think the answer to your question is simple, you already have the best PDK 991GT3, logically I would get 997.1TT with MT for weekend cruiser. I am in the opposite boat, I have 997.1TT MT and looking to add a PDK. I am from Hawaii sunny state year round, i would love to have an open air experience like Boxster Spyder PDK (hopefully the next Spyder have PDK)

All great advise. That's why I love RL. Driving one is the only way to know. I love how brutal the 991 GT3 feels but also really admire the 997 TT cars. I'd love a 993 or 964 but Wow I'm not sure considering the prices at this time. Would love to pick up a 997 TT and a 993 S. I just can't get Porsche off the mind. I'm a true addict and love it.

Test drive a bunch of them. The least depreciation will be on a non-modded 07-09 6spd Coupe with PCCB, Adaptive Sport Seats, and the Sport Chrono. Stay away from the Tip in my opinion.

:::sigh::: The weather bites in central Ohio right now. My car is sadly on the trickle charger right now... Can it be summer yet?

I would tell you to find and get one. Its different than our GT3 and its a great car on its own right. The torque in the highway is limitless.

Looking at a Turbo 12 MSRP $158,100 - 23k miles, carerra white/black int with full leather, pwr sport seats, launch vehicle?, sunroof, sport steering wheel, wheels painted black, air vent slats painted Ext color, red belts, white dials, PCCB, sport chrono, PDK leather options, ventilated and heated seats, air intakes painted to match, Ext pkg painted carerra white, side mirror flashers painted, door finishers painted, bi xenon w PDLS, additional int pkg in leather, PDK. VIN WPOAD2A97CS766186. Priced at 94,995 CPO'd What do you think? Seems like a good price but would offer less of course. Car is stunning. Anything I missed? Thnx millions. Would a Turbo S be worth the additional $ on a car like this. I know more HP / more $$ and I love that but 500 seems to be adequate.

TTS gets you more HP/torque, as well as important items included automatically that are options on the TT -- PCCB, sport chrono w/ dynamic mounts, PDK, PTV, adaptive sport seats, dynamic cornerning lights.

The only two of those major options that seem to be missing from your TT are PTV and the Adaptive Sport Seats.

A similarly optioned/miles 2012 TTS CPO is likely to start off about $10k more--up to you if the extra power/options are worth it to you--they were for me.

Here is the build sheet for the car your looking at:

Is the PTV a game changer in handling? I guess this, 2012 model, is the last 997.2's built. Also the adaptive sport seats- much nicer? I've noticed some with center lock wheels like my gt3 which I really like. Is the S worth it for not a huge price jump? Thanks again for all the input and knowledge.

Thank you for the build sheet. I'm thinking the S is worth an xtra 10k to me. I hate wishing I woulda, coulda, shoulda got the S.

TTS does also come standard with the center locks, which you either like or you don't. Mine was specced into the Turbo II wheels like the one you're looking at, which I personally prefer but that's up to individual taste.

PTV is nice and you can feel it especially under hard cornering, but calling it a game changer may be a bit strong.

As for the Adaptives--people love them and consider them well worth the upgrade. The only thing I was disappointed by in my TTS build is that the original owner specced out of the adaptives back to the comfort seats. I had the comfort seats in my previous C4S so I was used to them (they are quite nice seats overall in their own right) so it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

To me the decider was the extra HP/torque. The extra 30 HP and 36 lb/ft plus the included options made the differential worth it to me (as I mentioned the delta was around $10k at least for cabs when I was looking a few months ago).

It seems like the 991gt3 and the 997tt 6spd are a great combo to have! I would love to add the 991gt3 to the stable one day for the great contrast.

As others have said, I would look into the 6spd turbo because you already have a great PDK on the gt3.

If they're at $95k that's a fair starting price for a CPO '12 with that mileage from looking at what's out there. If you could work them down closer to $90k you'd have a pretty good deal I'd say.

I personally think the pdk is more suited to the turbo and the 6mt more suited to the gt3. Based upon their power delivery...

That being said you already have the pdk gt3 so like others have said it makes sense to me to get a 6mt turbo.
