Default Clean out your wet bits

Took the time last weekend to pull off the front bumper and remove the road detritus that had collected over the last 6 months. Then installed mesh inside the bumper to prevent it happening again. Plenty of threads on 6speed and here on how to do it, so won't rehash, but anyone with a Turbo should consider doing the same. I'm happy with the end result, and took it for a 300km run to test it out afterwards (hence the bugs and feathers).

Happy to answer any questions. I followed this guide, adding a separate narrow strip to cover the outer gap mentioned, as seen in the photos.

That looks like a big job! After seeing this thread I'm surprised how Porsche never did this in the factory.
How do you like the Rotel? I always notice Hi Fi

Took me a long time, but mainly due to having 0 experience in that I have never removed a car bumper or worked with mesh before. More time cutting and fitting the mesh than anything else. Reckon I could do it in two hours the second time around.

Rotel is good. Is a Rotel RA-12 Stereo amplifier driving a pair Dynaudio Excite X12 speakers. Great sound for the size, although source is mostly Spotify connected via Bluetooth these days!

I'll be in Tauranga a bit this summer, more than happy to come around and give you a hand. Other than time the cost to me was about $70 in mesh, screws and cable ties.

Looks very neat and tidy.
I have done the same, you will still get some smaller debris getting through and still need to clean rads every 12 months.

Looks great ! I also previously put together a DIY using a very similar process and has been working well for several years now...

Good work!

Design911 do but they don't fit properly judging by the 6speed thread. Way cheaper to make your own.

Zunsport grills are excellent - easy to fit and look good
No need to remove bumper for fitting - but obviously need to make sure rads are clean first!!

Agreed. I'll take my bumper off in a few weeks (once my broken arm heals, turns out skateboarding at my age can be dangerous) so I can swap out the externally visible screws for something more discrete, and I'll take a few pics of where it's fastened. Isn't a hard job - if I can do it with 0 experience, I'm sure anyone else can.
