Default Clutch/ Tranny trouble shooting - Need Help

Hey Guys,

I have a 2007 Turbo, on my way home tonight from dinner I had some clutch/tranny issues, While trying to go WOT from a 2nd to 3rd gear shift the car would not go into third gear.

After driving it up and down the street, at normal shifting the issue keeps occurring, while trying to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear the car will not go into 3rd gear without a few tries,

I dont think the clutch is slipping as when I have the car in 6th gear at WOT at 1500rpms it builds boost just fine and doesnt slip.

But while trying to the car in reverse or in 1st gear to move in and out of the garage it doesn't feel like its secure in those gears.

Any idea of whats going on?

While the car is off, pushing the clutch in and out there is some serious squeaking going on now,

-Dan

Have you checked for fluid dripping out of the front pentosin reservoir?

Also, if you double clutch the 2nd to 3rd shift, what happens?

Could be any number of reasons but its weird that its 2nd to 3rd only.

I also have to add that when the car was off this morning, i pushed in the clutch 3 times to listen to the squeaking and now the clutch is insanely hard to push in.

It sounds like you have multiple issues..

At the very least, your shifter and cable might be the issue.

OR, you have a bent shift fork or 3rd gear issue inside your gearbox.

Your recent post with the squeaking clutch points to possible throw out bearing FORK issues>which can be bent... This requires a tranny removal.

IF you hear any clicking sound, that would point to a possible clutch pressure plate failure.

Thanks for the info, I dont hear any clicking when pushing in the clutch.

Taking car to dealer in the morning to sort this out.

heavy clutch is likely the accumulator.

Do you have issues getting it out of 2nd as well as into third?

Pentsoin reservoir is in the front near the brake reservoir.

I actually just dropped it off at the dealer, seems to be hard to get the car to stick in any of the gears. While taking to the dealer the more an more I changed gears I believe its the shifter cable.

Checked the pentsoin reservoir and it was fine.

Dealer diagnosed it and it was the shifter cable.
