Just a word of warning - PET 7.3 doesn't seem to work under windows 10 so hold off upgrading if you want to keep using PET.

I now get a Hardlock error 14 after upgrading to win10. Haven't found a way round it yet!!

Yep - tried all modes from winXp up - always get the same hardlock error

I run a virtual machine on my system, and have it run Vista (old copy I had), and it will then run in Windows 8.1 or 10. Just FYI. You simply run the VM and then can rub all sorts of older apps you may need/want.

You can check out VMware for a free personal use version HERE ...No affiliation...but works well.

Interesting that you can get it to run in win 10 in a virtual machine. I am running win 10 in a virtual machine on a Mac running parallels. This worked fine using 8.1 but not win 10!!
I can always set up another VM under Parallels and run 8.1 to use PET if I need but I'm curious as to why it doesn't run under parallels

I installed 10 on my new PC. It was so bad I had to go back to 8.1. The computer was so slow it was unbearable.. I would wait a few months on 10

Agreed! More Microslop OS I was able to work with it a bit and do some maintenance and tweaks and all is running better now...But at first it crawled!
