28 hours of run time is fairly significant though.

19 hours. Increased oil consumption wouldn't show up in this short of a time period unless there was a catastrophic failure. Nor would added tailpipe sooting.

Honestly there are too many fine examples out there to pick from. This one could be fine. Me, I wouldn't chance it though. I'd be worrying about every engine noise, tick, rattle, and so on until I had a leak down test done, oil pan dropped, filters cut open and a cylinder boroscope inspection. Even then I'd still worry about having to rebuild the engine while I owned it.
