Early auto shutoff when filling up on gas
There have been a couple of posts on this topic in forums, but thought I'd share my experience real quick for others having similar issues.
Ever since I got my 997.1, I've been super annoyed at the gas nozzle clicking off early (between 1/2 - 3/4 full). It's even more annoying when you live in one of two states where you can't fill up your own gas (grumble grumble). The attendants aren't technically allowed to "top off" so I have to convince them that the car can take more.
Searching around a little, I noticed that this is a common problem. There are lots of suggestions like holding the nozzle upside down, or pulling back on the rubber boot. There's also a suggestion to get this part : 997-201-944-00 ADAPTER
I stopped by at my dealer and ordered this last week. The dealer had never heard of it, but it showed up on their computer. They got it in, I paid $8, installed it, and the next time I got gas was the first time I've ever had a complete fill to max without the nozzle clicking off early.
If you're having this issue (and it's bugging you, I suppose), this is a super
easy fix.

I've never heard of fix, good find! I only have the issue when I fill the tank from really low. Quarter tank or above, no issue.

Yes, common to all Porsches, because of the angle of the filling tube into a flat mounted tank. My 930 was horrible about it, I used to just back the nozzle out a bit and do it with a slow flow.

Nozzle in upside down works, as does not putting it all the way in. Filled up from near empty this morning, went right the way to the top with no issue using the latter method.

same here.. just got the car recently and can't fill it up to the top since it the pump keeps stopping. arrgh. i thought there was something wrong with the gas station so i changed it and still the same.. haha . ill try to make the pump nozzle 90degree angle and fill it up.

Thanks for the pointer! I thought I had a clogged vent. Looks like this adapter is a hack to deal allow the CARB nozzles to deal with what is probably an under-sized vent. Still, better than no fix.

Apparently the adapter doesn't work with the aluminumish (plastic) gas cap, which is annoying. I had like 5 false shutoffs last night and gave up around 3/4 full.

Early results with the adapter are promising. Put it on and it was my first time being able to fill it up 100%!
*Edit for an update a few weeks later: This completely solved my problem. I can get 100% filled every time now. Thanks again!!!

Move to NJ and gas is pumped for you. One of the few things I appreciate about the state. j/k good tip for those it affects. I can imagine this would be an annoyance for anyone who drives their car a lot.

Seriously, can you not pump your own fuel in NJ? In Calif "full service" -- which is not really any service anymore beyond operating the fuel nozzle -- typically adds 50-75 cents/gal to the price! There's a notoriously overpriced station near my office which is always around $5/gal for full service 91. Yikes.
