Default Ceramic brake pads???

OK so who couldn't see the flood of questions now that I have a new place to spend more money????

Had Hawk HPS pads on my 996 worked well low dust. This car (2007) creates so much dust, have to assume OE type pads with metal rotors. Can anyone recommend ceramic pads or some alternative that will produce less dust?

Of course safety and stopping are far more important than dust!

Thanks,
JC

I can tell you what NOT to get. Pagid yellow track pads put out a LOT of dust.

I think I'll go back to the stock pads next to cut down on the dust.

I have a set of these to go on. But my stock set is not wearing at all. I have 28K on them and they have almost 75% left...

These are supposed to be low dust... have not tried them.

I had a set of Hawk HPS on my 996 quite happy with em. Low dust. New car has white wheels and hoped ceramics would even be less than the HPS pads.

Unless someone else knows better, all I can find in a complete set of ceramic pads are EBC Redstuff. I have a 997.1 and searched for that, a 997.2 may be different I don't know, but probably the same.

i finally got hawks to make the front pads for turbo 997 ceramic and it works great. i put new rotors on and now have a matching set on my car. it did take 18 months but i'm glad i finally got it. the dust savings alone is worth it. bite and feels pretty close.

did you have the pads custom made or did they start making them for over the counter. I cant find them anywhere.
Thanks

I have had the ceramic pads from my original order in 2010. Love them. No dust or dirt. And they saved me from a possible incident. Had short distance to stop, and they performed as advertised. Worth the price of extra investment at time of order. They were almost half the price if you ordered them with your original specs.

Does anyone know the average miles that these brakes last on a street car, that isn't tracked?

Jay

no they are off the shelf. we share the same front pads as the carerra gt. took them awhile but they finally made a production run and introduced them at sema. just hit up millen motorsports and they can get you a set. i'm never putting stock pads back on. even when these dust, they are light grey and wipes off stupid easy.
