Default what to do....what to do!?

So i have a base 2009 997.2 6sp MT with sport chrono. 30K mi
I have been eyeing a 2007 997 TT also with 6sp MT (requirement) and sport chrono, 34K mi.
Happy with the 997.2 but 480hp is calling.
Do you thing trading a 09 base for a 07 TT + some additional $$ a good move.

Drive it and decide then. You may like it more than you think, and you may like it less.

I went from a Cayman S to the turbo. I knew the turbo was going to be a substantial upgrade but I was honestly surprised by how much I liked it after my first test drive. As Dennis said, ultimately it is up to your personal preference.

The only downside I have found with the turbo compared with my Cayman is that the 480 hp just isn't accessible on public roads without serious consequences. Drop a few gears on the highway and you're flying at over 100 in absolutely no time.

I bought a 2008 997TT CAB this year. If I could go back and do it again, I would have looked at the 997.2 C2S & C4S much harder. I wanted a PDK car, but ended up with a TIP. I love the way the C2S will let you get a little loose and also loved how the C4S is a bit wider stance. Both Carrera's let you wind up the gears in town and seem to allow more of an "overall" driving experience and use more of the car.
Then after driving the 997TT, it is blistering fast speed, ridiculous torque, fantastic stance with the wide hips and lower nose and the cut outs and the lower rear vents, I couldn't go back. So I bought it.

So, I would buy the 997TT again, yes, in a heartbeat.

Financially? No.

Logically? Not really.

I have to point out you would be getting rid of a newer 2009 997.2 with fewer miles for an older (2007) 997 Turbo with more miles.

One has to assume you know your current car inside and out and thus you know its condition as well as anyone could know a car's condition.

You get rid of your current car to buy another car that is more of an unknown.

But does the change in cars make sense emotionally?

Only you can answer that.

That's where it all begins.

Personally I think it would be difficult to go back a generation in tech as well; I would look into an 09TT or 997.2TT if you really want to upgrade.

I went from a 2009 C4S (tuned with SW bypass) and went to a 2009 997.1 TT 6MT and will never look back. A test drive is not going to help as "Once you go Turbo you never go back"...good luck with your decision but I Loooooooooove my TT.

I've never owned a no-turbo Porsche car so I can't compare. But I am looking for an 09-11 C4S PDK to replace my 10 CGTS as a daily driver. IMO the .2 upgrades are worth it.
