To clear bra or not to clear bra, that is the question

How many of you actually have a clear bra on your cars. I'm talking entire front end. Is it really necessary or overkill for a DD?

ET1KTRD 12-23-2014 12:05 AM

I have it on entire front end... Full hood and bumper, half the front fenders, near turbo air intakes, and rear bumper behind the wheels. When done properly you can barely tell its there. It ensures your paint continues to look like new instead of Swiss cheese over time. A must have in my opinion.

Dude for a daily driver its absolutely essential.......... end of story.

fskof 12-23-2014 01:21 AM

I have Xpel Ultimate on the full front end; full hood, full fenders, bumper, side mirrors, head lights, turn signals, fog/driving light.

I will never own another vehicle without it!

tcsracing1 12-23-2014 01:24 AM

my next new 911 will have full clear bra.... I am hard on everything :)

Ibanezgod 12-23-2014 01:33 AM

Do it or sell the car

TheInfamousDrew 12-23-2014 08:19 AM

This is an absolute need!
I have the bumper, full hood, full fenders, and headlights.

When you get the full hood and fenders, there is no line so you can't tell.

Interesting how the poll doesn't support the comments overwhelming one sided view on this subject lol. Do you all have clear bra on your cars?

it might be worth searching rock chips or bumper respray. Unfortunately these cars are very prone to bumper chips. Also with the poll the question could be taken a few different ways. The whole front end could mean full hood and fenders, or 1/3 of the hood and fenders, or just the bumper and nothing on the hood and fender. It could also be taken to mean clear bra Yes or No, as your thread title reads.

What? I think we all answered that we have clear bras, poll reflects that - 66% yes.

Some just said it's essential but didn't specify if they have it. Well I have till day after Christmas to decide since that is when my car is getting detailed. Previous owner in only 800 miles put swirls in the paint. Or more likely the dealer did.

Then afterwards I will finally post pictures of it on the forum.

I voted No. I don't like clear bra as they take away the true color of the car in my eye. Yes, you risk getting some chip (& I have), but I can't handle the ugly/shinless bra look...yeah, I have seen some of the new "high tech" bras...but no thanks for me...

Turboslut 12-23-2014 04:12 PM

I have yet to save up for it and having slapped on 4k miles in last 3months...I regret it already. I had one stupid shrapnel of headlight fly up in the air after hitting vehicle in front of me.....and in true slow motion fashion hit me right on the bumper where I now have a chip in the paint. Tiny...but its there...and on a black car it sucks.

Get the clear bra...I know I am doing so with my bonus money.

eviligloo 12-23-2014 05:46 PM

I keep going back and forth on it but will probably spring for it at some point. On a black car or dark car it's a must. It shows up very noticeably.

Porsche paint is soft (so they say).
