I bought a 2011 sport sedan with the n55 engine with 21k miles for $27k. I have a Cobb stage 2a, which is intake, catted downpipes, intercooler, and a custom pro-tune that produces 100 hp and an amazing 150 ft/lb of torque over stock on Turn In Concept's awd dyno. Throw on Eibachs springs, Koni yellows, an M3 rear sway and voila! All told, I have about $7k in mods in it.

Too bad the Audi RS7 hasn't started depreciating yet.

I would suggest a Lexus ISF...fast car and handles very welll for a four door...only downside is you cannot tune them and as your kids get older they may not fit in the back seat? But heck that would just be a reason to buy something else...LOL

I've had two E55s and a CL65. Loved the E's and hated the CL(POS). Never driven an E63. I love the look of a blacked out W211. Don't care for the W212 styles though. I wonder if they ever got the traction control sorted out. The older models it was always getting in the way.
I like the looks of the RS4 but have never driven one. I've heard it's comparable to the M3 though.
Have reopened negotiations with wife. Wish me luck.

I can't believe I am writing it, but have you checked the new Challenger SRT? If I had to buy a Prius or Fusion I would just show up with a Chrysler at home. Plenty of hp, warranty, etc. but only if plastic doesn't bother you. Otherwise, F10 M5's have depreciated quite well, and E63 wagon is quite nice. If you don't have to put that many miles in your car, the old V10 M5 is also good, but if not, you might have to stop at the gas station every other day (a friend of mine finally gave up...).

I like the Audi A7, but sounds like this car may not be what you want to autocross. When I bought an A7 for my wife, the guy tried to talk me into buying an RS7. It sounded very appealing, but for the price of a new RS7, I was able to by a 2015 A7 (nicely optioned) AND my 2011 997.2 TTS Cab!

Buy the Cayenne Turbo to make her happy, then buy a 944 turbo for 10 grand well sorted. You would be amazed what they can do. If you really want to get excited, try a track day with PCA on top of the autocross.
