Intriguing solution. I bet I'm not the only one who hates friggen lug bolts! If I ever tracked a car with bolts I would do a stud conversion in a heartbeat.

Did you get our studs or from a different supplier?

it was from a different supplier but I was wondering why people aren't doing this to their Porsche...

Wheel stud conversion kits will ship in around 6-8 weeks with ball seat nuts.
pre-orders are welcome.

i dont like the way this is done. traditional studs have a flare at the bottom of them that are designed to expand upon torquing while also using the hub as the washer. The wheel and the bolt on a pcar acts as the big washer that holds the bolt into the hub. with this here you simply are using a stud. There aren't any washers holding the stud onto the hubs or flare fitting/hub washer.

i wouldn't want to try this with an r compound tire. the amount of heat generated and stress IMHO isn't worth the risk. get a wheel stud tire change if you are worried about changing tires.

I replaced stock studs on an exhaust manifold once and had the studs back out. I had to go back and lay down crush washers and lock bolts. The heat and vibration caused the studs to back out.....

Curious if anyone has installed these and has feedback on them

RacingBrake 05-11-2016 09:29 PM

Those are the same studs we made for EVO 8/9/10 and earlier SRT4 (Neon) which are known to track heavily and broke OE studs.

M12x1.5 is a popular conversion for BMW, while M14x1.5 is for Mercedes and Porsche.

We have sold quite a few kits to Porsche owners. All brake related components are designed and developed for track use.

If you are a track racers or frequently perform your brake maintenance job, you will find this conversion can save you a lot of hassle and frustration.

A true time saver.
