Thinking about coming home :)
So I have been away from Porsche for almost 2 years. The last car I sold was a 996 GT3, even though I never go to the track. I got bored.
This was my first water pumper after 7 air cooled.
So I bought a 2000 360 F1. Awesome car, amazing car to drive and has a knack to make you feel really good every time I get in it. Has the sound, woman lifting there tops and all the normal stuff.
But it's that little voice "what if something happens" is always there. Even though it has been 99% reliable. The throttle sensor is poked, so $1100NZ or $580US to replace. Not too bad.
But I always find myself looking and reading about Porsche, rarely do I do this with the F car.
So a dealer sniffed that I might be interested in getting back into the fold, and after 3 weeks has offered me a clean swap for 2006 TT. 52Km, like new. GT silver, Chrono and loads of carbon etc.
I realise the 360 is worth more, and probably always will be (here anyway)
This could be a clean way rather than trying sell privately and putting up with all the dorks that inevitably follow.
But are there any known issues with the 05/06 TT's?
I wish I could have both!

well in the USA, the 2005 TT is a 996 bodystyle, and I do not believe they made a 2006 997tt, the 997 turbo models started in 2007.
I've driven an 02 360 6spd and it was a real fun car, but my heart is with the 997tt

The 997TT was introduced in February 2006 at the Geneva show IIRC. In the ROW it may have been sold as a 2006. In the US it came as a 2007 model.
BTW mine's one of the last to leave the assembly line as an 07, on June 21, 2007.

Yeah a 2006 could be a 997. My car was delivered in the UK so don't think it's a NZ thing, although we are different...
I'd consider selling the 360 privately if there's a significant difference in value. Depends on how much you'd likely get for it. There's a few nice NZ new 997 Turbos around at the moment. Lots to choose from so expect you could drive the price down a little.

P 997.1 TT starting from € 60.000 with + 100.000 km

Check inside the driver's door and you'll see the manufacturers metal label. It will have the build date. Take some pics and post them for us and we'll be able to tell you more about the car. BTW, the 996 TT is still a GREAT car with very few known issues. Good luck on your hunt!
