PDK EXPERIENCE
Hello to all:
I got my 2013 997TT a week ago and have been enjoying driving my turbo PDK more than I thought I would. Prior to this car I had a 2007 GT3 RS which is an amazing car, but my opinion is simple if you are not going to track a GT3 no point in having one. Why did I not track the GT3 is just part of my personality that couldn't force myself to take it to the track and abuse it some.
Anyway happy with my 997TT PDK. The only problem I had when I got the car is that I am still trying to find the clutch when I start the car....ohhh well habits..........

I test drove a .2tt pdk earlier this week and I found the same lag. I found it quite distracting and double shifted a couple of times to avoid redlining. As RKF said the lag was random so I thought it was more user error, as most shifts were instantaneous. Is this a common issue with PDK or do you think it was more an issue with the box.

There are several threads about PDK shift lag. Some have said that Sport mode reduces it.
I haven't driven a TT w/PDK, but I found the PDK to have a very noticeable lag from paddle hit to actual shift. Once it does shift, though, it's a faster actuation than any human could perform w/ a synchro box.

I have been DD'ng, previously a C4S and now a TT, PDK cars for about 5 years now. Sport mode makes for better and crispier shifting in both cases, for what I can feel. I have not yet tried the PDK-S in the new GT3 (and not many people have with those cars under curtain), but I guess that is the new benchmark to beat.
So iirving in Sport mode, if the lag and smothness bothers you, is the way to go imho (I drive in Sport mode about 99% of time).

My 2013 997 TTS shifts amazing. I thought I would use the paddles but rarely do. I find it more enjoyable to put it in sport or sport plus and just concentrate on keeping it going in the right direction. It revs so fast I found myself late to shift when really on the gas. These cars are utterly amazing !
