My truck has a tune also...by H&S; it makes 500hp/1100lbft of torque, around 45psi of boost. Only gets 9mpg but can pull my 32' trailer with a pcar to any place! And it can do 6 tire burn outs...I bet your TT can't do that! just some humor.......

Igooz

Is the truck running europipe? Bilsteins or KW coilovers? Gmg or H&R sways? What are the wheel offsets? Did you have any over-revs!

Well put a lot of the high Hp tunes usually run race gas or high boost which is not great for our engines.
I disagree that a race gas tune is bad for your engine. Race gas actually allows your engine to run cooler, burning slower and more completely. This is why you can advance your timing. How I drive my car on race gas, well that's a different point all together.

^ True
also, running your car on e-85 (a great luxury we have in the north east) results in a much cleaner burn and virtually no carbon build up.

Sorry just to clarify race gas is not bad but high boost is without it.

Thats what I meant.

I seemed to miss that important part out lol

Cheers.

Thumbs up

All this is very interesting!

I guess if I can't re flash to stock and have it undetectable, I'm a no go for right now because of my extended warranty.

I haven't heard any manufacturer say theirs is undetectable, have you guys?

Thanks for the awesome education RListers!

These "tuner" topics are so serious...I hope my OT is OK. ^Tom, you nailed it on the head! There is "another" world for diesels with as much passion!
No europipe but rather americapipe! And the over revs are logged at 3,800rpm!

I'm in the same boat as you. Car is under CPO until July 2015 so I'm torn on what I should do. Multiple dealerships have told me they can detect a tune, even when flashed back to stock. It just depends on how tune friendly your dealer is (and I'm sure they get friendlier if you dish out the money to do it through them.). The last thing I want to do is save a few hundred on a tune and end up costing me a few thousand in warranty issues.

both are great tunes... but FVD has been tuning porsches, AND ONLY porsches for 31 years. i wish i had an FVD tune on my vtg car. scott's tune is great , and makes proven power.. FVD's tune is quite a bit ore advanced than just 1 map...

Chris (tt surgeon) dynoed 466awhp on his FVD tune...

Steve u happy with your apr tune?

What dealer does the work on your car? Some are fine with tunes as long as its solid.
