My new 2009 TT
I've been posting way to much asking for help both here and on the GT3 area, asking all kinds of probably slightly stupid questions, as after several years I have returned to the Porsche family and am real happy to be here. Here's a picture of my new toy tucked into my garage yesterday. As stated it's an 09, 6 speed, limited slip, CL's, PCCB, sport shifter, heated adaptive sports seats, sports chrono package and some nice to have stuff like XM radio, bluetooth, Bose sound system etc. I've already ordered black lower rocker moldings and real valance to compliment the black air dam (it's a little too Miami Vice in all white, but I really have a soft spot for white Porsches). I debated a GT3 vs. TTS and this package. If I planned to do much tracking a GT3 would be the obvious choice but for primarily street use I went with a turbo, opting for this over a TTS with PDK given that it's more fully depreciated and almost as fast, or certainly fast enough. It's going be fun…Thx again to everyone for your help thus far, I'll have more questions to follow. Bryan

kchu221, I guess we're all in this together, so I'll share the details. I purchased it from Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena Ca. Paid in the mid 80's. The car had a sticker of 152K when new, not counting the CL's the customer had the dealer later add. It's a 6 speed and has limited slip, Sports Chrono, PCCB, sport shifter, heated adaptive sports seats, a bunch of exterior trim in white much of which I'm going to change to black (the rockers, and real valance) thicker steering wheel, XM radio, bluetooth, illuminated sills, crests in the headrests, yellow belts and a few other minor trim items. Miles were a little higher than the norm at 27,000 miles but the car's condition is excellent. It's a CPO car so I have a full warranty for two years. I'm pumped!

ilko, I know what you mean about the CL's, my guess is an original owner with more money than sense. I think CL's as a option on an 09 turbo would have been 4K+. Adding them later had to involve even more $$. I don't plan to track the car much so I won't face the realities of constant wheel changes. As a street car the CL's are less problematic, and you have to admit they look very cool.
Psup4s, I wish I still had that Supra, I did a couple of examples with HKS (RIP) in their heyday. Keeping the stock turbo's with larger intercoolers, free flowing exhaust, and computer re-mapping would yield a reliable 450-500 HP. Change the turbo's and the power could get really serious, but the drivability goes down at the same time. I remember really embarrassing a guy in a fine looking 1967 427 Corvette, he couldn't believe it. Those Supra turbos are big bang for the buck and absolutely bulletproof.

Out of an abundance of caution I paid my Porsche mechanic to come to my house to show me how to properly remove my CL wheels and hoist my car with a low profile jack in my garage. I had pre-purchased the torque wrench, breaker bar and low profile jack in advance from RL classifieds. Now that I understand the process I can remove and replace all wheels in minutes. I even ordered the Castrol Optimoly TA wheel grease from the UK. Turns out I likely won't need to re-grease for a while.
Enjoy the TT.

Awesome car.. I would love to see it.. I'm in Pasadena. PM me and we'll get a coffee some time..
You got a good deal.. Rusnak is not famous for good deals.. If your going to do your service there I highly recommend making friends with Scott Rosenblum in service. Let him know that you know me.. He's a good guy..
