Bose Subwoofer: Dynamat and Stuffed
Accepting the Bose system for what it is; the subwoofer is very boomy and harsh; i think worse at highway speeds. So i took the idea of others on this site and elsewhere to both stuff the subwoofer enclosure with polyfill from PartsExpress( made for this purpose, 12 bucks plus shipping) and added Dynamat that i had laying around from other car audio projects.
1) Removal of box is easy. 5 minutes. Remove bolt for upper seat back latch. Carefully remove"Bose" fascia from subwoofer port, and remove bolt under port. Slide box forward
2) Squeeze plug at back of box to disconnect wiring.
3) Remove 24 T15 screws to open box
4) Here i put in Dynamat and polyfill ( not too densely)
End Result: Sounds much improved; deeper, much less boomy. Cheap and easy i think.
