Do your tip buttons work? I also saw on a thread that the horn will not work until you get the later control unit?

I made a mistake and left the cd changer and bose amp programmed in so I have the error on the PCM and I'm loathe to reprogram it now in case I screw up the current programming for the steering wheel controls...... I'm using a foxwell programmer
strange because the only function I do have is my horn, all the other MF buttons do nothing right now. I will replace the module soon because my ocd will not allow non working buttons however I never use the MF buttons

I do however have to pull it apart again as I thought I’d get lucky and it would work, of course I was not so no functions right now but I’ll swap out control module shortly.
Looks great! what a huge improvement the rest of the interior has aged quite well.

I have my car at the dealership trying to get this swap done. Tech has stated that the wheel is "not compatible". The horn and airbag work, but cannot get heated portion and MF buttons to work. The steering part no is
991.347.803.58 Multi function, heated steering wheel for manual car Porsche 991.1/981 Boxster / 981C cayman in black leather
Indicator 7PP.953.568.BE and control stalks 970.613.061.50 9P1.953.502.CA included.
Do I need the 997.613.289.01 steering control module? Or some other part number to make this happen. I have a 2009 Turbo 6MT and had the sport steering wheel with round airbag (IE no buttons). Your help is greatly appreciated!! SO close.....

Looks similar except the one in 118 is a PDK wheel and I have a manual. I dunno if that makes a difference

for the PM, click on the box for not in your contacts below send message
i just confirmed with David the heated wheel does work when the seat heater is on.
His car is an 07 Turbo he purchased a used module, it came from a car with a Tiptronic no multifunction. Horn always works it's just making a ground connection. The Tiptronic buttons worked, I just enabled the heater and multifunction with the PIWIS 2 for David.(post 118)
I read that the 09 and newer have the correct module installed, if you don't have a MF wheel all the dealer has to do is install it and plug in the airbag.
My local dealer (Rusnak)refused to touch the job.
my wheel is post 11 here.

Most likely need this. I have a 991 wheel working in my 997.1, with multi function and paddles working. Needed this and the 997.2 control module.

So... went to the dealership and they first said it couldn't be done, although the tech is very nice and said he is willing to try anything. MF is "on" and that is how he said he got the horn to work. He does not feel that that the wheel (a 2014) can be "recognized". I printed out some posts from the forum about the 997.613.289.02 steering wheel control unit. He said he would be willing to try. He also suggested the 955.652.211.21 clock spring. Thoughts?
I am going further the down the rabbit hole

My wheel is the one in post 118 that jay and this thread helped me with. When I installed the wheel without the updated control module the horn worked but nothing else. After Jay and I installed the module and enabled the MF options with his piwis everything worked.

Really straight forward and pretty easy

This wheel is working in my car, which is a 997.1 tip. You need to follow the guides online and use the correct module and the adapter I linked earlier to get MF working with a 991/Macan wheel.

You don't need the clockspring he has suggested.

997.1 upgrade to 997.2 steering wheel control module (997.613.289.01 or 997.613.299.01) or 997.613.289.02 (supersedes 01)

997.1 or 997.2 to 991 style wheel needs the both the 997.613.289.02 and GPS adapter module.

Follow the programming instructions here.

Here is the instructions in a document you can take to the dealer.
Only step 3 is needed if you purchased a used module or have the correct module, so enable MF and heat or whatever options your car has. I purchased a new Electronic Control - Porsche (997-613-289-01) did it the hard way.
