The designation was available in chrome but not in the body color; I neglected to do this with my black 2008 and the chrome contrast, for me, is a bit too much.

Your car will be produced exactly as ordered (a rare and unique specification) and this, to some degree, justifies the waiting time.
That is good to know that I am being told truth. I am willing to wait. Car will most likely be my last build car other than DD. I did get the Illumn Carbon Sills so I guess that to is part of delay.

Your car will be here soon that will make me want mine more been kind of just in limbo no huge hurry but no one had their S yet. That will change in couple weeks Then I will become hard to live with till my baby comes in. But to keep me busy I just bought new building to move my buisness this summer. That will keep me busy.

Non-refundable would be a deal breaker for me. That's ridiculous - I'd find another dealer.

OK dude, have you been by to see it yet? I know you are just waiting to pop that Porsche Cherry!

We want a ton of pictures.

Also please do a 0 to 60 MPH run with Sport Chrono turned on. I want to see if you can break 3 seconds like the non "S" model did when Car and Driver tested against a ZR1!

Gj325...I believe we had a price increase although I do not remember the estimate tossed around on the various sites; but I may be wrong. PM me for the specifics as I do not want to disseminate possibly incorrect information.

I stopped by the dealership to inspect the car (not carefully) and to take care of the paperwork late this afternoon. All seems to be copasetic. With some luck I should have some photos tomorrow.

The centerlocks look very nice (had HRE P40's on the 2008) and these are quite similar. There is definitely an improvement in the sound of the exhaust...more throaty and much deeper.

Why is it ridiculous? I always thought the point of a deposit was to show commitment in buying the car? It would only be ridiculous if you don't plan to buy the car.

If I were a dealer I'd make it non-refundable.
Customers (of which we ALL are at some point, every day) can be juuust as flaky as a dealer.

Apologizes for the delay. We have been inundated with incessant rain...inch after inch after inch. The jury remains out for me on PDK.

Absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to hear your first impressions on the "S" version. I love the contrast with the interior color. Enjoy and drive her well.

Jay...In all candor, I sincerely doubt one could detect any performance difference between the "S" and the non "S" as 30 hp is not much of an increase over the 500 base. I continue to be amused by those with the 0-60 fetish; whether it is 2.7 or 2.9 or 3.4 my posterior lacks the sophistication to discern any difference.

Your evaluation of PDK would be of great value. The internet is a sea of misinformation about PDK as very few contributors have driven (much less owned) a PDK Turbo. Yet parroting what others have speculated or "heard" becomes conventional wisdom. A long break-in drive this morning still has not made me a believer; I refuse to glibly affirm what others have written. PDK is an automatic and the bottom line is I do not like an automatic transmission in a Porsche. It shifts quickly but repeatedly falls short (for me) to correctly anticipate the appropriate gear under a wide variety of different circumstances. It has removed much of the excitment and pleasure of driving a Porsche...but this is only my opinion.

My comparisons are based on the 6speed in my 2008 Turbo which I believe is a different transmission from the 6speed in the Carrera series. Perhaps I am technologically challenged (I am a Kentuckian) but my strong preference at this time is the GT1 with a manual transmission. But then I still order 3 button Brooks "sack" suits and always wear long sleeve button down oxfords...just my opinion.
