Depreciation curve on 08 and 09 turbo cabrios

I am helping a friend out to find a used 08/09 cabrio and want to know the true market valus for these cars. A quick search on autotrader seems to be all over the map with around a 10% spread in price for cars under 10K miles. I realize options make a difference like PCCBs etc...

When will the 2010 cabs be delivered into the US?

Not asking for a crystal ball but opinions be appreciated. Any leads would be great on a private party hassle free sale not limited to the West coast please because that is where he lives.

Few That I have found for reference:

2008 - $114K - 8.5K miles

2008 - $107K - 4.5K miles

2008 -$103K - 7.4K miles

i can tell you that there was no shortage of 08 turbo cabs. in the 09 model year, i purchased a new 09 turbo coupe. i was considering leftover 08 coupes-there were only a couple in the country in august/sept of 08, but there were tons of 08 turbo cabs available. many dealers had one or a few 08 turbo cabs around. i think the prices that you are seeing are close to accurate-my own personal bias would be that a low mile 08 turbo cab should be about 100k.

That top one with 8.5k miles on it is over priced. It has the most miles out of the bunch and doesn't even have PCCBs!

Earlier this year -- in late March/early April time frame and then again in last May -- I was offered the chance to buy 08 Cabs at $30K off of sticker.

Stevens Creek Porsche was one such dealer. Other dealers in the bay area were advertising similar discounts. One dealer had a goodly number of cars to choose from. I think I posted some price and availablity info back in that time frame but no longer have the paper ads to use to refresh my memory.

Trouble is if a buyer paid retail he may have a hard time accepting that a few months later his "same" car was offered for $30K less and even then had no takers. The cars I referred to above were not exactly flying off the lots even with the hefty discounts.

My opinion is those prices are quite optimistic.

All I can say at this time is price is not a fact, only an opinion.

I have no idea when 2010 Cabs will appear.

Sincerely,

Macster.

I have decided to not pull the get the 97 turbo coupe and instead look for an 09 or 08 orient red turbo cabriolet. Is this a tough color to find in these cars?
