How do you care for your car once you have a clearcoat put on? Do you use a special wash, do you polish, wax, etc. and are special products recommended? Would it be different products for a white car to prevent yellowing vs. say black or silver? Thank you!

I got mine with the film already on. In the first picture you can see the difference in the reflective quality of the paint vs the shield. It looks good now but the initial wax job left residue so time with a Q tip needed. Thats my only issue but it beats the alternative of stone chips.

No special maintenance for varying colors...just wash / wax the film.

997Vancity

I had Premier do mine and I am very glad I did.
both the product and the installers are great.
My only regret is that I only did half the hood.

Is there a significant premium for the venture shield over 3M?

No premium - only a premium on the best installer around. You are essentially paying for the service and the workmanship.

I also had the VS installed; was lucky enough to catch Premier on last years roadshow to Seattle. They are night and day difference compared to other installers I've seen in our area who do the VS and 3M. Probably an obvious one, but be sure to see some cars before you commit to an installer.

Use care when applying wax around the edges of the clear bra as not to create wax build-up. They're HARD to remove when dry. And also, don't use yellow wax because those will cause the film to yellow prematurely. I learned that from experience.

good point - assuming the full hood and full fenders are not covered, do watch out with wax buildup with the kit applications.

Do you have any recommendations for Chicagoland installers?

Have you seen the installs by Metropolitan Detail here in town?
