Turbo Cab Production Delays???
 

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if there have been production delays at the factory? We ordered a turbo cab and were given a production completion date of October 25th. As of last friday the computers have still shown it as completed, but not shipped.

Here are the options:

We also added the painted back seats in exterior color and had the area under the e-brake painted as well. My sales guy said that these two customized items are causing the delay.

Has anyone had this type of production delay before? Are these options the cause of the delay?

Anything considered part of 'exclusive' will add some days to production time.

Couple that with Porsche not updating the shipping schedule system, and you have the usual wait and see.

Give it a week, it will likely show completion and either ONVESL status or at port (there, not here).

My car was scheduled for completion October 16 and was in fact completed on time. It is currently at the port (east coast) and I hope to have it in the next week or so.

Yeah! Found out that the car got on a boat on 11/14. So, I am thinking that it will take about 5 weeks to get to the dealership (Arizona). Does that sound about right?

I was told "week before Christmas at the dealer".

That's about right. As eric said, it was the "exclusive" options that delayed your car.

The boat is the Hojin, due into San Diego 12/8/07

I have sent my apologies to the local dealer. He sent me an email yesterday with the Hojin name, but it got automatically blocked as spam. He said I can look for the Hojin dock date on

So, it looks like the ship in in the port this morning, right? Does anyone know the average time from port to dealership? I am in AZ.

The Hojin docked at San Diego at 3 am today and leaves again at noon today. I would think there is not a lot of parking at the port, and dealer told me most of the customs clearance process is already done on the ship. So maybe they put it straight on a truck and start driving. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
