Default What is your oil consumption?

I used 1/2qt the first 1,186 mi. of her life. Should it improve as the rings seat? I know most of the usage is when I go full boost and see blue smoke out the rear view mirror, is this normal for a new motor braking in?

I have put in a 1/4 every 800-1000 miles. I have about 3100 miles on mine and have used just shy of a quart. Not qualified to respond to the smoke question.

A quart low is about two bars down - are most people waiting until then to top off?

I think two bar down = 1/2qt, make sure your on level ground when testing.

I think it gives you an error message if ground isn't level, or engine not warm. AS

I believe each bar is 1/2 L, therefore 2 bars down is roughly 1 quart.

I've averaged 1 quart/2200 miles over the last 17000 miles. I also noticed the consumption decreased after the first 5000 miles.

Dude, how did you rack those miles up with two other cars?

I cant help it but this thread just makes me laugh.

At the close of my buying experience, my sales guy opens up his file cabinet, reaches in, and to my total surprise gives me a quart of Mobil one and says "you'll need this".
WTF? I thought. My surprise quickly morphed into semi nausia. I had this sinking feeling... Oh my god, I just bought a 120k sports car that burns oil?

I Have purchased a lot of new cars in the last 15 years but NEVER had a dealer give me a quart of oil.
Anyway, he must have seen my face turn white (as all the blood drained out) and says, "its normal, dont worry" then calls in the service manager to back up his claim.

I recovered quickly...

So, to get back to the post issue, I have added 1/2 quart in 1,800 miles.
To quote agent Maxwell Smart "and loving it"

How can you not? seriously, the Audi is my wife's and I just bought the 335 as a daily driver to take it easy on the TT but I still have a hard time not driving it every day, it is addicting and the 335i seems like a disabled turtle in comparison...
