Default holy sh*t!!

Just had a tip TT delivered. To make a long story short, my GT3 will arrive at the end of July. In the interim, i will be driving this TT. Man, what a car. I never imagined how fast this car is. Even in tip, it is engaging. Coming from an '02 TT, with ECU flash and PSI exhaust, and didn't think there would be an appreciable difference between the two cars. I was wrong. The 997 is a stunner. I hope the GT3 is not anti-climactic.

I still have the tip in the back of my mind. I would hit the rev limiter occasionally in my 993tt - with more power in the 997tt I do worry about it slightly. I know that I don't "need" to run through the gears to enjoy the car. Thankfully I'm not ordering the car until november so I have some time to think it through.

tip is very good in this car. however, its impossible to reach the advertised 3.7 0-100 unless heavy power braking.......good or bad....dunno

I have no plan to launch the car to achieve Porsche's acceleration number. Hell, even with a manual I'm not good enough to get the 3.9 advertised. I am, however, going to be driving this car on some twisty mountain roads in upstate NY. Tip is a bit of an insurance policy. AWD drive is great, but it won't help if I get stuck between a shift and end up in neutral - not where you want to be on an elevated, tight curve. Have I driven manual cars in the mountains before? Sure - but this car is in a different league and I'd be an idiot not to respect the power it has.

I don't think you will be disappointed when the GT3 comes.

My reaction was similar when I picked the car up.

Now drive it for a couple of weeks....

Then get the GIAC/Headers/Exhaust done.

You will have to think of new expletives to describe the new car.

Stock 997TT ----- Barry Bonds with the Pirates
997TT with GIAC/Headers/Exhaust ------ Barry Bonds with the Giants
