Has anyone here done the ecu flash before break in? I'd like to have that done as soon as I take possession of her, but do not want to do so if it would affect break in. 2nd question, how does the giac software affect motor wear and warranty? tia!

I would def wait until it's broken in before any modding. If anything should happen during the breakin period, you'd be up a creek with a flashed ecu.

Not to mention that driving the car stock before break-in will give you a baseline to work with. Give you an idea of the differences that those "mods" make for you.

I agree with Chris and Jason. Why would you want to do this immediately? There is no good that will come from doing that. God forbid, you get a lemon - good luck with the dealer if the car is flashed right out of the box.

Wait, make sure all is OK and get a baseline on the car first.

My 997tt is my 4th turbo and they have all been rock solid. I put 22K miles on my 04 turbo cab. I did the GIAC ECU upgrade at 500 miles and I just hit 1000 miles and will be doing the exhaust this week. My only question is should I go with Fabspeed or AWE?

Exhausts are very much personal preference, listen to them both (or more) and buy what sounds best to you.

I waited 5000 miles before doing the ecu flash, because I wanted to get used to 480 hp before jumping immediately to 550+ and I think it was a good decision. I also waited 8000 miles before doing the exhaust to find out if it will improve by itself, it didn't.
