C4S Cab to TT?

C4S Cab to TT?
I have a 06 C4S vert with 5K. I love the car and realuize after attending the two day porshe school in Al. that the car is the least of my limitations. That said, I allways wanted a turbo ever since I had a 993.
How much different is the turbo in everyday driving from my C4S? On the 997 site, everybody says I'm nuts for thinking about making the switch but I think I would give up the sunshine for more power. My everyday driver is a E55 and I love the torque.

If your DD is an E55 (loved mine), how about a GT3?

No comparision except when the it's a warm sunny day, then a Cab is great. But I have another car for that.
The C4S is slick and quick, sort of. A TT will have you wearing the S.E.G. big time!

I would trade the C4S Cab for a Turbo in a heart beat. For me, the Turbo is an entirely different car vs. a non-turbo 911. I have had a 911SC, 993, and 996 non-turbo cars.
I have had my 01 996TT for five years and have an 07 997TT on order. I never considered a non-turbo.
The TT's are wonderful daily drivers IMO. Very smooth, easy stop light to stop light and they are a COMPLETELY different car once you go up on boost. For me it turns from nice, tight, quick sportscar into an exhilarating near-race car type of performer. You get to pick which flavor.

I have been thinking the same thing, only my car is a 2005 997S. For me the issue is not giving up the sunshine (I have the coupe), for me its the depreciation my car will take after only 2 years trading it in and then coming up with $70K + in cash to make up the difference (including tax and lic) for a turbo optioned out the way I would want it. Most folks on the 997 site think thats crazy. I can afford to do the upgrade but have yet to test drive one (none available at my dealer). I love my car but have fallen in love with the 997 turbo. After I can find one to test drive, I'll make my decision. Most likely will wait until 2008-2009 model year but would love any feedback from folks that made the switch.

You say it's not a financial thing, and that you've already fallen in love w/ the TT. I would say your done LOL
I would suggest you post here and at 6speed looking for owners in your area and see if they can let you drive it. I've done that twice in my area and most owners have no problem doing that.

Buy the TT. I have had a C4S Cab (996) then 997S Coupe and now have a 997TT. It's in a different zone. I loved the 997S, but the TT is something very special.

Having said that.....everyone should have a drop top (if they can & if they have some decent weather).....but if you are not getting that kick from your cab, dump it.
Turbo Cab?.......an oxymoron IMHO.
Having one of each should be the goal
