yeah-he actually called me last week looking for one-i told him that i didn't know of one on the ground. he got on the phone and within 3 days, found one on the showroom floor. he had great timing.

Yeah, it sucks. I ordered it in November (I think) and dealer says there's a good chance it might be a late March build. I had my name down elsewhere for a July build first and I knew I would not make it LOL. I was lucky to find this one. I know I could find one somewhere, but for this kind of money I want it exactly the way I want it.

I'm a pretty impulsive person and NOT used to waiting for cars. My C2S and E55 before that were both literally on the boat, unspoken for, when I decided I wanted them. I had both within a week or two and that was rough. This is clearly new waters for me - and I don't like it one bit!!

not sure if it's in this thread, but what is your color/spec?

spoke to my salesperson. vessel to hit the shore between tomorrow and sunday. I went with the following dealer options:
V1 - stealth install. inicators actually etched in the rear view mirror
some clear bra on bumpers, not hood
ipod and sirius (cayenne setup)
euro (clear) side markers

Congrats. Did you get your car yet? I'm not surprised to hear others getting cars without waits. I told someone with a friend at a dealer that I was on a list for the car. Two days later I got a call from his friend with a car in stock. Tip. I passed. Next day, another call. No sport chrono. I passed again. After I explained that VTG was different from sport chrono I received no more calls.

I think larger dealers get cars from time to time that they never ordered. On a high demand car like this it's a bone from Porsche.

I finalized the deal this past Tuesday and the car gets picked up tomorrow in North Carolina. I should have it by next Wednesday. I never thought that a car would keep me up at night with all this anticipation. It's like having a new born all over again.

Classic. Wednesday or Thursday is when I'm guessing my car will also be ready for pick up after customs and a few dealer option installs.
