Default Are your kids safe in the back of 997 TT?

I really want to get a 997 TT. I currently drive an '05 M3 and love taking my kids in the car (ages 7 and 4). My only concern is, are the kids safe in the rear seats of a small confined space car like the 997 in the event of a collision?

It is because of this concern that I may get a new M5 instead.

Should I be concerned, or am I worrying for nothing?

Thanks.

911s have had rear seats for many years and kids have been riding back there ever since. If there was a problem you would have heard about it by now, it's not much different in size compared to your M3. My 8 and 7 year olds have been riding back there for 7 years, I have no problem with it, as long as they use the proper safety seat etc it is as safe as any other car IMO.

Thumbs up

I think it is pretty safe, my 3 year old twins love it in the back of the TT, the only problem was finding booster seats narrow enough to fit on the rear seats and there were only a couple of brands that do, you might not need them though.

My kids routinely ride in the back of mine, 8 and 10 (4 yrs now). They are very safe cars, seldom hear of any fatality in a 911.

I grew up in 911s, 928s, 944s and all were safe. My two boys have grown up in 911s dating back to my 79 930 and 72 911RSR Faux. They like the new TT the best. We do use it daily and all four of us ride in it. The new ones also have hook points in the rear deck. My boys are 4 and 7 soon to be 5 and 8

evenflo champion seats have a small base and fit into the back of a 911 however they were recalled so you have to look for the replacement model. i think their tribute or titan seats may fit but you'll have to check yourself.

eclou, the booster seats that fit on the rear of the 997 TT are Fisher Price Safe Voyage. They also have the same colors as the Tequipment stuff for the TT (black/grey and lime green). these are booster seats so you need to use the car's seatbelts with them, they are for children around 2 or 3 I think.

Kids are 12-10 and 8. I am Mr. Safe with my jewels and never worry about it in the P-car) However, there is always the DMF out there...
