Two criteria for choice (1) look like fabulous GT3 wheels (2) reduced wt of 5-10lbs each wheel. Any ideas/choices in addition to those below????

One of the primary pluses for ceramic discs is reduced unsprung wt(~44lb). Why can't this be accomplished with low-wt wheel replacement at much less cost??

How about 20" BBS Racing Wheels?

Not sure of weights, but the BMW racing wheels are a lot more busier than GT3s, thus not following the first criterium which for these turbo is to keep spoke count fairly minimized which brings out the dynamics of the car more (imo). A lot of spokes like the RS-GT wheels look better on cars like the M3/M5, a bit dated for the new turbo.

And to answer your question, I believe that the Dymag carbon fiber/magnesium wheels are the lightest in the world (14#per wheel)....and perhaps meet your # of spokes criterion....can't think of anything else that comes close:

I like the Champion RG5 wheels and the BBS RE wheels, but I would strongly consider 18" if you're that serious about unsprung weight.

GT3 wheels have 10 thin spokes, no more. Anything more makes the wheels look a bit busy + outdated for the new tt (imo).

Not a bad idea on the 18" wheels and too would improve the ride a bit over the 19", I guess they fit like the 19" (same diameter, etc.) under the fender wheels, etc. Great idea! We have some bad roads in my area and the 18" would give a better ride. I noticed that on my current M3, the 18" wheels gave a substantially more pleasant ride over the 19"wheels. About 2 weeks with 19" was all I could handle...got tired of the constant bumping and jarring. Really noticed a big difference putting back on my 18"s. I guess the purpose of the 19" is mainly looks????

18" wheels would not clear the PCCBs. Go with super lightweight wheels such as the BBS MM2 Mantheys (19"), Champion RG5 Monolites or the Kinesis F110s. All of those are lightweight wheels.

No ceramics, will the 18" fit standard steel discs on the '07 turbos???

Jason, do you know that for a fact about the 18" ? I don't know of any racing series that uses 19" wheels on a 996/7 based car. I would suggest asking the wheel manufacturers directly, start with the ones that actually race (BBS etc) and work your way down the list. Besides, I don't think he has PCCBs, but was asking about another way to drop the unsprung weight.
Yes the 997 C4/S 18" wheels are a direct OEM bolt on, so 18"s will easily fit the big reds.
The 997TT information guide also lists 18" as the OEM snow tire setup.

18" wheels will clear the standard steel rotors without a problem, yep. Turbojohn was talking about PCCB in his first post so I assumed he was getting them. To get the ceramic rotors + lightweight wheels would be the best way to reduce the unsprung weight. It'd make the car VERY fast indeed.

Here are my HRE C-21's Fronts are 8 lbs lighter, rears are 12 lbs lighter

I had the centers painted dark charcoal, but you can paint them any color. I like how they show off the PCCB's but they likely look nice with redheads. The big discs look sharp too.

I always think it looks stupid to have mags with some of the tiny-a$$ discs some cars have.

If they use 18" on racing cars, what is there for an advantage to 19" wheels besides supposed better looks (I find this questionalble) and rougher ride??? Sounds like looks is all??
